Simply, a digital twin is a virtual replica of a physical object or system that spans its life cycle, is updated from real-time data, and uses simulation, machine learning, and reasoning to help decision-making. The digital twin can be used in everything from the human body to an entire city. In this context, using descriptive analysis, a literature review was conducted. Based on our findings, twin digital proved to be one of the top strategic technology trends of our time with numerous benefits for corporations from reducing costs to increasing growth opportunities, the digital twin is an active agent in value creation, and the applications of digital twins are constantly expanding.
