The use of copper phthalocyanine pigments as blue colorants in gelatin films for aquatic food packaging
(Kocaeli University, 2025) Bayıl, Sibel; Çetinkaya, Turgay; Alanalp, Mine Begüm
In this study, Copper (Cu) phthalocyanine pigments, coded PD1 and PD2, were characterized, and the possibility of using them as blue colorants in gelatin-based materials for aquatic packaging was evaluated. Synthesized phthalocyanine pigments were compared with imported commercial PB15:1 (control) in terms of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) results, Cu, and ash content. It was found that the synthesized PD1 and PD2 samples were the ones closest to the commercial powder in terms of FTIR peaks, Cu amount, and HPLC results. The selected sample coded PD1 at 0.5 wt% with respect to the solution was further added to gelatin-containing solutions containing 10% and 5% glycerol, and dried films of GL10 and GL5 were obtained, respectively. Although the 10% glycerol-added film showed better color properties, L, a, b, Hue angle, and Chroma parameters were insignificant (p>0.05). Tensile tests and creep/recovery curves showed that GL10 had 107% higher elongation at break, 29% lower Young’s modulus, and higher strain values compared to GL5, making it softer and more flexible. Deformation parameters such as hardness, chewiness, and gumminess were also compared at different deformation rates for the selected GL10 sample. Results indicated that blue pigment-added gelatin films can be used in aquatic food product packages.
Ovarian stimulation: Cycle essentials for managing a cycle
(Livre de Lyon, 2025) Aydın, Gerçek; Taşkıran, Deniz
This section discusses ovarian stimulation, the cornerstone of infertility treatment. While ovarian reserves and targeted responses may vary depending on the patient’s characteristics and the clinician’s assessment, the primary goal is the same for all: to obtain the most appropriate and sufficient response without causing any harm. This section not only provides definitions but also highlights the key steps in managing an ovarian stimulation cycle, beginning with ovulation induction as the initial treatment and extending to IVF as the most advanced option.
Hepatoprotective potential of urtica dioica
(Orient Yayınları, 2025) Ekici, Miraç; Tuncay, Hüseyin Onur; Dündar, Ahmet; Koçyiğit, Mine; Haspolat, Yusuf Kenan
Liver diseases represent a significant global health burden, a ecting millions of people worldwide and contributing substantially to morbidity and mortality (1). e spectrum of hepatic disorders ranges from acute drug-induced liver injury to chronic conditions such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma (2). Despite advances in conventional pharmacotherapy, many existing treatments are associated with limited e#cacy, adverse e ects, and high costs, prompting increased interest in comple mentary and alternative therapeutic approaches (3).
Finite element analysis and production of a balance robot designed to be used in the field of advertising
(Kerim ÇETİNKAYA, 2025) Coşkun, Yusuf; Aydın, Diyar Can; Aktoz, Halil; Özyılmaz, Lale
This study presents the finite element analysis and prototype development of a self-balancing robot designed for applications in the advertising sector. The structural behavior and dynamic properties of the robot were analyzed using static, modal, and rigid body simulations in ANSYS software. Static analysis confirmed the mechanical durability of the robot by evaluating the forces acting on the motors and body, while modal analysis identified potential resonance conditions. Notably, in the third vibration mode, a deformation of 330.24 mm at 52.169 Hz was observed, indicating a critical resonance issue. To enhance structural efficiency, topology optimization was applied to the outer casing, resulting in a 14% reduction in mass (from 0.45392 kg to 0.39069 kg) while maintaining structural integrity. During the experimental phase, the prototype successfully demonstrated autonomous movement using integrated distance sensors. However, initial tests revealed a wobbling motion due to insufficient motor power, which will be addressed in future iterations by incorporating higher-torque motors. The proposed robot has the potential to serve as an interactive advertising tool, capable of attracting attention through dynamic motion and engaging promotional content display. Future work will focus on enhancing stability and refining control algorithms to improve performance in real-world advertising environments.
