Özet
O gerente de enfermagem realiza suas funções num ambiente cujas condições de trabalho podem ser demasiadamente estressantes. A pandemia de Covid-19 aumentou ainda mais os estressores aos quais
a equipe de enfermagem e consequente o gerente estão expostos. O presente capítulo, cujo objetivo foi discutir a síndrome de esgotamento profissional (burnout) em gerentes de enfermagem, foi elaborado
através da leitura, análise e interpretação de estudos encontrados na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde e no Google Acadêmico. Estudos apontam que gerentes de enfermagem apresentam altos níveis de exaustão
emocional e de despersonalização. Idade, sexo, estado civil, ter filhos, e ocorrência de mobbing estão relacionados com a síndrome de esgotamento profissional. O adoecimento do gerente de enfermagem
prejudica toda a equipe e consequentemente interfere negativamente na assistência. Apoio da equipe de enfermagem e da direção da instituição de saúde irá contribuir para a prevenção da síndrome de
esgotamento profissional em gerentes de enfermagem.
The nurse manager performs duties in an environment whose working conditions can be too stressful. The Covid-19 pandemic further increased the stressors to which the nursing team and consequently the manager are exposed. This chapter, whose objective was to discuss the burnout syndrome in nurse managers, was elaborated through the reading, analysis and interpretation of studies found in the Virtual Health Library and in Google Academic. Studies determined that nurse managers have high levels of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. Age, sex, marital status, having children, and the occurrence of mobbing are related to the burnout syndrome. The nurse manager’s illness affects the entire team and consequently interferes negatively with care. Support from the nursing team and the health institution’s administration will contribute to the prevention of burnout syndrome in nurse managers.
